  • Live TV for providers of any size. All of a provider's channels, however many: a provider of 55,000 channels opens in seconds and scrolls smoothly. Find your way by groups, sorted by language, by favourites and recently watched, or search channels and what is on. Type a channel number to tune in. Every day the guide covers is there, including the past.
  • Catch-up. Programmes that already aired play from your provider's archive, and "Watch from the start" restarts what is on.
  • Pause and rewind live TV, and jump back to live. A channel plays on when your provider drops the connection for a moment, without showing the last seconds again.
  • Zap like a TV box. Up and down change channel in the player, channel and number keys work too, and a banner says what is on and next. A channel that will not play tries its other copies first.
  • Record. Record a programme, or every new episode of a series. When your provider keeps an archive, Lumen records from it after the programme ends, so you can keep watching something else.
  • Portal logins (MAC). Add a Stalker / Ministra portal with its MAC address.
  • Your provider account at a glance: whether it is active, until when, and how many of its streams are in use.
  • Adult content is a switch, off until you turn it on, per profile; kids profiles never see it.
  • Your IPTV provider's films and series. Sign in to your provider and its films and series come too: each category is a catalog you can show on Home, hide or reorder like any other, they are in Discover, and when your provider has a film or episode you open from anywhere, its copy is one of the sources. Big providers repeat everything per language: you start with English and your app's language, and Languages on the provider's addon picks others. Lumen asks the provider gently, so it is not taken for abuse.
  • The calendar knows when films come out to stream. Films in your library show on their cinema, digital and DVD & Blu-ray dates for your country (with your TMDB key), three months ahead. With Trakt connected, episodes show their real air times and everything Trakt follows is added.
  • New episode alerts. The calendar's menu item counts new episodes of the series you follow, and a card tells you when one comes out (never over a film you are watching). The bell on the calendar turns the cards off.
  • Subtitles made on this device are far better, and in your language. A new speech model hears 25 European languages much more accurately and three times faster, with every line timed to the words; another hears every other language. The subtitles can be translated on this computer into more than 50 languages with the translation models Firefox uses. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Live TV has its own tab. Once you add a TV playlist, Live TV appears in the menu with the full guide: today, tomorrow and the day after, every channel with its number, what is on now in detail, a channel search, and your groups, favourites and recently watched channels. Set a reminder on a programme still to come and Lumen tells you when it starts. Channels no longer appear among films and series on Home.
  • Sign in to your TV provider. Add a playlist with your provider's server, user name and password, or add a user name and password to a playlist link that asks for one.
  • Calendar. New and coming episodes of the series you follow, films from your library by release date, and your TV reminders, day by day.
  • Play videos from this device. Open a file from the home screen (Open file, or Ctrl+O), drop one anywhere on the window, or choose Lumen under "Open with" in Explorer or an Android file manager. Lumen remembers where you stopped and lists recent files under "On this device"; a subtitle file with the same name next to the video loads by itself. Files stay on the device they were played on and never sync.
  • Night mode, Even out volume and Volume boost in the player's settings panel: loud scenes come down and quiet dialogue comes up, levels stay steady between titles, and quiet mixes get louder without distorting. Each is remembered per device. (Night mode and Even out volume need the full audio engine, on Windows for now.)
  • Subtitle colour and outline (white, yellow or cyan, with an optional bold outline), and a Hardware decoding switch for pictures with glitches, in the player's settings panel.
  • Lumen picks the right source. Play chooses for you by your spoken languages, a link it has verified over an unknown one, instant sources, and for series the same release as your last episode, waiting a moment for slower addons instead of taking whichever answers first. Settings → Playback → Choosing sources sets the highest quality, the largest file and words to skip (CAM releases by default). Sources outside those limits stay in the list, marked Filtered.
  • Skip intro and recap, free. A Skip button appears during an episode's opening or recap (OK on the remote skips it), using community timestamps (IntroDB for series, AniSkip for anime) and the file's own chapter markers. When the credits' start is known, Up Next appears there instead of in the last seconds.
  • Send report in Diagnostics sends the diagnostic report to us in one step, with passwords, keys and folder names removed, and gives you a reference to quote. Diagnostics also shows how many sessions on this device ended unexpectedly.
  • Speakers and subtitle height in the player's settings: tell Lumen whether you have stereo, 5.1 or 7.1, and raise subtitles away from the bottom edge.
  • Cast to your TV. "Play on…" now lists the smart TVs on your network (Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips and others with built-in DLNA). Pick one and the film plays there, with a remote in Lumen; files on your computer work too.
  • Chromecast. "Play on…" also lists Chromecasts and TVs with Google TV or Android TV built in (a Shield too), with the same remote in Lumen. No Google account or app needed.
  • Keep episodes ready. Turn it on in Settings → Playback and Lumen downloads the next episodes of the shows you're watching, then deletes them once watched. Good for trips and flaky Wi-Fi.
  • Downloads play first. Press Play on an episode or film you have downloaded and it plays the file right away, even offline.
  • Import a Trakt export. Bring your watched history and watchlist from Trakt without setting up a Trakt app: export your data on trakt.tv and pick the ZIP in Settings → Trakt.
  • Your own films and shows. Add the folders where you keep them (Settings → Playback → Folders on this computer) and Lumen lists them as a library, with posters: shows with their episodes in order and a button for the next one, films with where you left off. What you watch from them counts everywhere: start a film on the PC, finish it on the TV.
  • Type on your phone. With your phone paired as a remote, type a search or an addon link on the phone and it appears on the TV.
  • Your own keyboard shortcuts in Settings → Playback on Windows.
  • Subtitles made on this device (Windows). When a film has no subtitles you can read, choose Make subtitles in the subtitles menu: Lumen listens to the film and writes subtitles just ahead of where you are, on your computer, in the spoken language or translated to English. The speech model (74 MB or 141 MB) is downloaded once when you first ask; nothing you watch is sent anywhere.
  • Network folders (SMB). Your own films and shows → Add a network folder: a folder on a NAS or another computer (smb://nas/Media/Films or \\nas\Media\Films), with a name and password or as a guest. It becomes part of your library like a folder on this computer, and it works on Android and Android TV too. The password stays on this device.
  • Media servers on your network. Your own films and shows → Find media servers lists the DLNA servers at home (most NAS boxes, and Plex, Jellyfin or Emby with DLNA on). Open one, browse its folders and play; Lumen keeps your place on this device. No account needed.
  • Live TV from a playlist. Addons → Add a TV playlist takes an M3U address (from a TV tuner such as HDHomeRun, a provider, or a free channel list) and, if you have one, a guide. Channels appear on Home by group, with what is on now and next; a channel's page shows the guide for the hours ahead.
  • A tidier Settings and Addons. Settings is a short menu (Profiles, Languages, Sources, Home & library, Player, Sync & devices, Accounts, Performance, Storage & backup, About), each a page of its own. Addons puts the ways to add a source (Stremio, Plex, Jellyfin, TV playlist) up front as tiles, your addons next, and the rarely needed bits under Advanced.
  • TV: every page starts with something selected. Discover, Settings and Addons used to open with nothing highlighted until you pressed a key; they now open on their first option, like Home and the title pages.
  • The next episode starts faster. While the credits roll, Lumen gets the next episode's link ready, so Up Next goes straight into it.
  • TV guide. A channel's page opens the guide: every channel down the side, the next six hours across, a line at now. Choose a programme to watch its channel.
  • Your Plex server as a source. Addons → Add a Plex server shows a code; enter it at plex.tv/link on any device signed in to Plex and choose your server. Its libraries appear on Home and in search, a title it has plays straight from it, and what you watch moves Plex's own resume points and watched marks. No Plex password goes through Lumen.
  • Your Jellyfin or Emby server as a source. Addons → Add a Jellyfin or Emby server: sign in once and your libraries appear on Home and in search, a film or episode your server has plays straight from it (the original file), and what you watch in Lumen moves the server's own resume points and watched marks. The password goes to your server and nowhere else, and every device in your household gets the server.
  • Crop black bars for wide screens: turn it on in the player's settings (or press C) and a film made wider than its frame fills an ultrawide monitor or zooms cleanly with Fill. Lumen finds the bars itself, skipping dark scenes, and remembers the choice on this device. An Aspect ratio choice fixes a picture that looks squeezed or stretched, and Fit, Fill and Stretch now also work on Android TV.
  • Thumbnails on the seek bar on Windows: hover or drag it to see the frame you're about to jump to.
  • Picture in picture on Android phones and tablets: press Home while a video plays, or the new button in the player, and it keeps playing in a small window. Closing the window pauses.
  • Advanced mpv options in Settings → Playback, for people who know mpv: write an mpv.conf for this device, and see what applies as you type.
  • Links to a moment. Copy link at this time in the player's settings panel gives a lumen:// link that opens the title in Lumen with "Play from 1:23:45" ready.
  • Why won't this play well? The player's statistics (the D key, or Playback statistics in the player's settings panel, now reachable with a remote too) start with plain sentences: the source is slower than the video needs, frames are being dropped, decoding runs on the processor, or HDR is shown in SDR.
  • Profiles and kids profiles. Everyone in the household gets their own Continue Watching, progress, library, languages and home rows (shown, hidden and in their order); switch from the avatar at the bottom of the menu. A kids profile uses only the addons you pick for it, has no Addons or Settings, and can be locked with a PIN. Profiles travel with sync to every device.
  • Match frame rate (Android TV): the TV can switch to the video's frame rate for smooth motion, in the player's settings panel.
  • Passthrough to receiver: Dolby and DTS sound (including Atmos and DTS:X) can go untouched to an AV receiver or soundbar, in the player's settings panel.
  • Trakt once for the household. Connect Trakt on one device and every device that syncs scrobbles too, each profile to its own Trakt account.
  • Verified sources. For direct streams Lumen reads what the file really contains, including picture (4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision) and every audio track's language and format, shows it on the source, and uses it to pick: a film named 1080p that is really 4K, or one that turns out to carry your language, is judged by what it is.
  • Watch together. Start a party in the player's settings panel and share the code; friends who open the same title play, pause and seek in step with you, each on their own source. Private: the relay cannot see what you watch.

Thay đổi

  • The calendar opens on today on every screen, shows a line of what each episode or film is about, and no longer shows made-up air times. Live TV shows what is on now from the start, and its "No information" cells are quieter.
  • The player's settings panel is now four tabs: Subtitles, Audio, Picture and More. It opens on the tabs (left and right pick one, down goes into it) and reopens on the tab you used last. Speakers, passthrough to a receiver and frame-rate matching are set once per device, under Settings → Player.

Đã sửa

  • Guide titles never break mid-word. A programme in a short slot shows "Busin…" instead of splitting "Business" across two lines.
  • The Live TV search box fits its text on TV. Its hint no longer wraps onto two lines on Android TV; where it would not fit, it simply says Search.
  • Subtitle height applies at once. Choosing Bottom, Higher or Highest moves the subtitles straight away, and on Android TV it works at all.
  • Big TV providers load. Signing in to a provider with a large film library no longer stops at "the playlist or guide is too large": Lumen reads the provider's channel list instead, and playlists and guides of any size are read as they arrive.
  • Skip intro and Skip recap take focus when they appear, so OK presses them on a TV and Enter on a computer.
  • The player applies your speakers, keys and subtitle look before the video starts, instead of a moment after (the sound could switch layout under a receiver in the first second).
  • Discover says when your addons did not answer and offers Retry, instead of "Nothing matches these filters".
  • Closing "Add a source to start playing" with the remote keeps the focus on screen.
  • On Android, list rows show their focus and touch highlight while a page slides in.
  • Discover's genres work with any addons. Picking a genre shows its titles (Reality used to show nothing), and the remote stays on the genre you pressed. Only real genres are offered: with the TMDB addon the list had grown to over a hundred entries, years, languages and "Day" among them. One slow addon no longer leaves the page empty while the others have answered.
  • The remote reaches everything and you can see where you are. Download and "Play on" beside a source, the last size choices under Choosing sources and "Show in folder" under Storage can be reached again; LEFT from a control by the edge of a page goes somewhere instead of nothing; DOWN then UP comes back to the card you left on Home's rows. Focus is clearly marked on Details' and Home's outlined buttons and on addon switches. Home no longer takes the remote's focus away from a Details page opened on top of it.
  • UP and DOWN go to the next row. "Show code" on Sync, "Check now" on About and "Open file" on Home were skipped when their row started with text. Arrow keys leave text fields on a computer too, the profile button shows when it is selected, and Trakt's options can be reached right after opening them.
  • "See all" with a sort chosen shows titles within a few seconds instead of collecting hundreds first.
  • A profile PIN locks your profile. It is asked when someone switches to it (it used to be asked when leaving it), and before a locked profile can be edited. With more than one profile, Lumen asks "Who's watching?" when it opens.
  • Addon addresses ending in manifest.json/ (with a slash after it) install instead of failing.
  • Easier to read and to use with a screen reader. Titles and details stay readable over bright artwork, faint text and blue and red buttons have stronger contrast, and the window buttons and each addon's on/off switch now say what they are.
  • Films without artwork show their name on their card instead of a bare film icon.
  • Image subtitles (Blu-ray PGS, DVD VobSub) now show, and styled anime subtitles (ASS) keep their fonts, colours and positions on Windows and Mac. On Android TV's HDR output, picking an image subtitle switches that title to the compatible output so the subtitles can be drawn.
  • Opening another episode from a link now shows that episode (the previous one used to stay on screen).
  • Skip intro on your own shows. For shows in your folders, Lumen listens for the opening the episodes share and offers to skip it.
  • Subtitles that are out of sync fix themselves. Press Sync automatically in the player's settings and Lumen listens to the film's dialogue and moves the subtitles into place, on your device, in a moment.
  • A source that won't play is skipped. When Lumen picked the source and it turns out broken, it quietly tries the next one instead of stopping on an error.
  • Pressing Play while sources are still loading starts the best one as soon as it arrives, instead of doing nothing.
  • Keyboard shortcuts in the player kept working after you click one of its buttons on Windows; before, they could stop until the next click.

1.0.5

Mới

  • Import from Stremio. Sign in with your Stremio account (Addons → Import from Stremio) to bring over your addons in their order, your library and your watch progress. The password goes straight to Stremio, is never stored, and the session is signed out afterwards. Pasting an auth key still works for accounts that sign in with Google or Facebook.
  • Update notice. When a newer Lumen exists, one line on the home screen says so, with the right download for your device: installer or portable ZIP on Windows, the APK for your device on Android, the Mac app, or the download page on iPhone. Settings → About shows the state, can check now, and can turn the daily check off.
  • Where sources come from. Until you add an addon that provides streams, the home screen explains that Lumen plays what your addons find, and links to adding one. On Windows the Addons screen offers an addon link it finds on your clipboard.
  • Stremio addon links on Windows. An opt-in switch on the Addons screen opens Stremio install links in Lumen even when Stremio is installed; turning it off gives them back to Stremio exactly as they were.
  • TV: links (Buy Lumen Pass, recover a key, addon setup, updates) show as a QR code to scan with your phone; descriptions expand with the remote; the on-screen keyboard has Shift, caps lock and a symbols layer.

Thay đổi

  • The sync header says when sync is paused and when a free trial ends, instead of "Sync is on" in every case. The sync intro states the 14-day trial and that a relay you run yourself is always free.
  • Turning sync off asks first and shows your pairing code to copy, since the code is the only way back into your household.
  • On TV the License key is shown as you type it.
  • Fonts ship inside the app; nothing is fetched from Google any more.
  • Translations completed for the remote-control and sync-join messages.

Đã sửa

  • Typing a Lumen Pass key into the pairing-code field created a new, empty household; it is now refused with an explanation.
  • lumen:// addon links did not install.
  • A public addon could redirect Lumen to an address on your own network.

1.0.4

Đã sửa

  • Entering a Lumen Pass key on TV opened the television's own keyboard instead of Lumen's, and once the field had focus the remote could not move down to the Activate button. The same applied to the Stremio import key, the addon directory filter, the remote pairing PIN and the “Play on…” PIN. Every text field now uses Lumen's keyboard and the remote can always move on.

1.0.3

Đã sửa

  • Dialogs on TV opened with nothing focused, so the D-pad had no origin and no button lit up. The sync prompt asking whether to merge or replace a household could not be answered with a remote at all. Dialogs now open with a control focused and keep focus inside them.

1.0.2

Đã sửa

  • Continue Watching no longer returns to abandoned earlier episodes after a later episode is finished. Caught-up series return when refreshed metadata includes a new released episode, including a new season.
  • On TV, the next-episode popup focuses Play now and returns focus to playback controls when canceled.
  • Android TV playback controls recover focus when the video captures it, so remote navigation can resume without waiting for controls to auto-hide.
  • Desktop window controls remain readable over bright title artwork, and homepage scrollbars no longer interfere with the window-control area.
  • Detail pages load base information before optional enrichment, avoiding duplicate cold requests and reducing delays from slow metadata providers.
  • Episode artwork reuses verified replacements before retrying broken originals. Up to three visible episode repairs run concurrently and share identity lookups.
  • Failed episode images can use verified TMDB artwork without guessing season numbering. Lookups and replacement downloads are limited to visible episodes.
  • Sync recovery includes data uploaded by the recovering device and keeps local data intact until the complete household has downloaded successfully.
  • Household replacement is atomic; failed downloads and concurrent local edits cannot leave a partially replaced profile.
  • Delayed addon refreshes cannot reinstall removed addons or carry them into another household. Previously removed defaults stay removed after upgrading.
  • Existing shelf orders migrate into sync and apply immediately on another device. Delayed preference reads cannot undo a newer order.
  • Catalog failures show Retry even after earlier pages loaded successfully.

1.0.1

Mới

  • Audio languages. A default spoken-language list beside the subtitle one (Settings → Playback), synced with it. Dubbed or original is now a preference, not a per-file choice.
  • Jump to season on long series, and episode ranges ("1–100", "101–200") for series with no season structure, opened at the next unwatched episode.
  • Subtitles that find themselves. When a file has no subtitle track in a language you want, the best match from your subtitle addon loads on its own. A forced-only track (signs and songs) gives way to the full track in the same language when there is one.

Thay đổi

  • Your subtitle and audio choice is remembered per title, "off" included, instead of one global last pick. The global memory keeps languages only and ranks below your Settings list.
  • Language codes match in every form: a file tagged dut, an addon answering eng and a setting of nl or en now agree.
  • Subtitle size and background no longer sync between devices; they belong to the screen you sit in front of.
  • The next episode's sources are resolved during the last minutes of the current one, and the addon that served the current episode is enough to choose, instead of waiting for every addon to answer.

Đã sửa

  • TV: the remote never loses its place. Coming back from the player, a control is always highlighted; inside the player, while the controls are showing, every press lands on them or their menus. The dead presses on the Shield are gone.
  • Windows: the scrollbar can be dragged on Discover, catalog and series pages.
  • Many-season series (NCIS): the season row scrolls with the mouse, so the far seasons are reachable without a keyboard.
  • Trailers that stopped after a few seconds play through: the trailer relay no longer resends bytes after a restart.
  • Continue Watching shows a series once when it is reached through two catalogs (an anime catalog and IMDb).
  • Category and sort chips on TV show where the remote is.
  • Android: UPnP port mapping is off; it destabilised playback on the Shield and torrent peers do not need it.

1.0.0

Mới

  • A media center for the desktop and the TV. One app for browsing, searching and playing: a home board built from your addons' catalogs, Discover with genre, year and rating filters, series pages with their own episode pages, and trailers that play inside the app.
  • A playback engine that handles what you give it. Built on mpv and FFmpeg from LGPL sources with every LGPL decoder, hardware decoding on Windows and Android, and TrueHD, MLP and Dolby Atmos tracks decoding on Windows. Subtitle and audio selection, timing offsets, chapters, playback speed, audio presets for small speakers, keyboard shortcuts and hardware media keys.
  • Sources you choose. Lumen speaks the open addon protocol and ships no content sources: only the keyless Cinemeta metadata and OpenSubtitles addons. Install any addon from its manifest URL.
  • A library that keeps your place. Continue watching with dismiss, saved titles, mark season watched, a calendar of new episodes, and up-next that resolves the next episode's sources during the countdown.
  • Sync without an account. One 20-character pairing code links your devices. Rows are encrypted on the device before they leave it; the relay stores opaque identifiers and ciphertext it cannot read. Run the built-in relay or your own.
  • Lumen Pass. Syncing through Lumen's hosted relay is free for 14 days per household, then €19 once for that household, transferable, with no subscription. Playback, library, history, downloads, backups and every device stay free, and a self-hosted relay never needs a Pass.
  • Downloads and a phone remote. Resumable downloads, and a phone that drives another device over the local network with PIN pairing.
  • Trakt and TMDB. Scrobbling and watched-history import from Trakt, artwork and descriptions in your language from TMDB, both with your own keys.
  • 26 interface languages, with localized dates and numbers.
  • A Windows installer. Per-user install, no administrator rights, and it uninstalls from Settings, Apps like any other program.
  • Android and Android TV, in beta. arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a builds, remote-first navigation and an on-screen keyboard on TV. Verified so far on an NVIDIA Shield; sideloaded until the store listings are live.

Notes

  • Downloads and checksums are published at dl.lumen.movie, which also serves a small release feed (/releases/latest.json) for package managers and a future in-app update check.
  • The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen notice on first run. Every file has its SHA-256 published beside it.

0.8.2

Thay đổi

  • The built-in sync relay now lives at sync.lumen.movie. Devices on the built-in relay follow the new address by themselves; nothing to re-pair. The old address keeps answering for devices on earlier builds, and both names reach the same relay, so old and new builds still sync together.

Notes

  • Downloads and checksums are published at dl.lumen.movie, which also serves a small release feed (/releases/latest.json) for package managers and a future in-app update check.

0.8.1

Mới

  • Sync works out of the box, end-to-end encrypted. Turn it on with one tap: Lumen creates a pairing code, and entering that code on another device links it. Library, progress, addons and player preferences are encrypted on the device before they leave it; the relay only ever stores opaque ids and ciphertext, so whoever hosts it learns nothing about what you watch. The built-in relay is used by default; your own server still works under Settings → Sync → Advanced.
  • The app speaks 26 languages: English, Czech, Danish, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Finnish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Pick one under Settings → Language or follow the system language; TMDB descriptions follow the chosen language too. Right-to- left languages wait for a layout pass.

Thay đổi

  • Settings is tidier: Trakt and TMDB sit under a collapsed Integrations section, About shows the version, diagnostics and a small Licenses link, and the copy throughout is shorter and plainer.
  • Turning sync off forgets the pairing code on that device.
  • The playback tuning panel and the track menus now fit the screen on phones: they shrink to the viewport and scroll for the rest instead of running off the bottom.

Đã gỡ bỏ

  • Video safe mode. No device ever needed the software pipeline; the toggle and its automatic fallback are gone.
  • A relay address stored by an earlier version is no longer reused silently: Advanced opens to show it, pairing only uses what is visible there, and a reset puts the built-in relay back.

Notes

  • Devices that used the earlier sync must be paired again with a new code on each; the old relay format is no longer read.
  • The built-in relay is live; devices on it follow the app's default address automatically, so a future move to a proper domain needs no re-pairing.

0.8.0

Thay đổi

  • TrueHD and Dolby Atmos audio play on Windows. Lumen now ships its own build of the playback engine with every audio and video decoder FFmpeg offers under the LGPL, instead of the trimmed 2023 build that had no TrueHD or MLP decoder. Atmos remuxes play their lossless track instead of falling back to the AC-3 companion (or silence).
  • Also new in the engine: ProRes and FFV1 decoding, and a much newer mpv (0.41) and FFmpeg (9.0) underneath. Playback settings are unchanged.
  • The engine's build recipe is in the repo (tools/libmpv/) and is reproducible; the shipped library remains LGPL with sources available.

0.7.1

Đã sửa

  • You can back out of "Finding peers…". The dialog that appears while a torrent's swarm is located could hold you for up to 45 seconds with no way out. It now has a Cancel button, and Escape, a tap outside, or BACK on a remote all close it. Cancelling also stops the search in the engine; a torrent that turns up late is discarded, so nothing keeps downloading behind a dismissed dialog.

0.7.0

Thay đổi

  • Strello is now Lumen. New name, new mark (a slab L throwing a fan of light), new app icon at every size, and a new identity everywhere the platform sees one: the executable is Lumen.exe, the Android package is tv.lumen.app, the winget package is Lumen.Lumen, the install links are lumen:// (with stremio:// still accepted), and data lives under tv.lumen\Lumen.
  • Your data comes along. On the first launch after updating, Lumen copies the Strello data folder (addons, library, watch history, downloads) into its own; nothing to re-enter. The old folder is left in place.

0.6.61

Đã sửa

  • Anime catalogs now show up. Addons like Anime Kitsu publish catalogs of type "anime", which the home board silently dropped — the addon card said "5 catalogs" but none appeared. The board and the shelves toggle now accept every content type an addon offers, not just movies and series, so Kitsu's Trending, Top Airing, Most Popular and Highest Rated appear as shelves.
  • Discover gained an Anime tab (and a tab for any other content type your addons provide). The type row is now built from what's actually installed instead of a fixed Movies/Series pair.
  • Search covers anime too: searchable anime catalogs are now queried alongside movies and series.

0.6.60

Đã sửa

  • Trailers failing to open. YouTube refuses any request for a direct trailer URL that isn't a bounded byte range, which is exactly how the player reads. Direct trailers now stream through Strello's local relay in bounded chunks; HLS trailers are unchanged.
  • "Playback failed … codec 'truehd'" over a playing film. This Windows libmpv build has no TrueHD decoder. Instead of a fatal banner the player now switches to another audio track in the file (same language first) and says so on the OSD, or tells you plainly that the file's only audio can't be decoded here.
  • A user agent containing a comma no longer breaks the player's HTTP headers (it was sent as a malformed header and answered 400).

0.6.59

Đã sửa

  • "Playback failed — Can not open external file ." over a playing video (0.6.58 regression): the player handed mpv an empty external audio file on every non-trailer playback. It no longer touches that setting unless a trailer needs it.
  • Trailers falling back to the browser. YouTube answered the first client with a bot check for some trailers; the resolver now tries the iOS client first (which also offers unthrottled HLS with audio muxed in, up to 1080p) and the VR client second.
  • Errors while video is already playing no longer raise the "Playback failed" banner: they flash on the OSD, and only become the banner if playback actually stops.

0.6.58

Thay đổi

  • Series and episode pages open at once. The page paints from the addon's data immediately; artwork, air dates and the anime bridge's extra episodes land in place a moment later instead of holding the whole page (a 180-episode donghua took 12 s on a cold cache).
  • Trailers play inside Strello. The Trailer button opens the clip in the app's own player (720p where YouTube offers it), with the same controls as any title. If YouTube refuses, the button falls back to opening the link outside the app as before.

0.6.57

  • Drag to scroll, everywhere on desktop. Shelves accept a mouse drag again (a chained scroll-physics veto had silently disabled it), and vertical pages now drag and fling like touch. Long lists and grids show a draggable scrollbar thumb, and the wheel travels 1.5× further per tick.
  • Clean screen changes. A new page no longer fades in over the still-visible previous one; going back is an instant cut.
  • Series start at S1 · E1. Specials (season 0) are never picked as the next thing to play.
  • In-player pickers match the tuning panel. Subtitles, audio, speed and chapters open the same anchored panel on desktop and TV: grouped rows (Off, in this file, from add-ons), hover and focus highlight, gold check on the active entry.
  • Playback tuning slimmed. Smooth motion, Match display to video and the hardware-decoding chips are gone; decoding is always the copy path with mpv's automatic software fallback.

  • Every episode has its own page now, like a movie: a large still, the title and air date, the synopsis, Play (best source), mark watched, previous/next episode — and its sources right below, loading the moment the page opens. The series page goes back to a clean episode list; its Play button opens the next episode's page and starts playback in one click. Continue-watching cards for an episode in progress open that episode's page directly. The in-place expansion from 0.6.53 is gone.

  • The frozen grey screen after playing a torrent (the one every theory missed): the "Finding peers…" dialog kept a reference to the sources list that opened it; when that list was rebuilt or closed while the dialog was still up, the dialog's next redraw read a dead widget and crashed the whole page into a blank box. The dialog now carries everything it needs itself and is dismissed independently of the list — found in one look by the new error screen in 0.6.54.

  • Strello now explains itself. One timeline of everything the app does — page changes, source resolution per addon, torrent engine events (session, metadata, peers, every stream connection opened and closed and why), player open/exit/teardown step by step — written to strello.log in the data folder (rolling, 5 MB × 3) with the engine and the UI on the same clock.
  • Failures show what broke. Any internal error now appears as a readable screen with the message, the stack, and a "Copy report" button (exception + the last 100 timeline lines) instead of a blank grey box; uncaught errors and engine panics are logged too.
  • Freeze detection. A watchdog logs a "FRAME STALL" the moment the picture stops updating while the app is in the foreground — with the steps that led up to it — and logs when frames resume.
  • Settings → About → Diagnostics: live torrent engine status, addon health, the timeline (refreshing every 2 s), verbose engine logging, "Copy report", "Open log folder", "Clear log".

  • Episode sources open in place: tapping an episode expands its sources right under that row (tap again to collapse; another episode swaps). The hero Play button expands the next episode and starts its best source the moment one arrives. The old episode popup is gone. On TV, OK lands the remote on the first source and BACK collapses the list before leaving the page.

  • Leaving a torrent mid-play could freeze the whole window (the greyed-out "ghost" of the app): the player's video engine was left waiting on a read from the torrent that had just been stopped, and its shutdown waited on that read — for up to five minutes. Stopping a torrent now cuts its open playback connections immediately, so leaving is instant. This also lets Windows actually delete the streamed file on exit instead of at the next launch.

  • Sources live on the movie page now, not in a popup: a movie's details page used to open a cramped corner sheet over a mostly empty page. Sources now load straight into that space the moment you open a movie, and Play starts the best available one (cached first, then resolution, then seeders) — or scrolls to the list if nothing is ready yet. Episodes keep their sheet for now.
  • Source rows are readable: instead of a dotted filename with emoji metadata run together, every source is one clean title line plus chips — cached, 4K/1080p, DV/HDR, codec, audio, size, seeders, provider, languages — with the addon name only once, in the group header, and its response time reduced to a colored dot.
  • Quieter shelves: the ‹ › arrows, "See all" button and ⋮ menu are gone from every shelf header. Scroll arrows appear at the row's edges only while you hover it (and only where there's more to scroll), "See all" is the last card in the row, and the hide option fades in when you hover the title.

  • Torrents failed on Android with a "persistent DHT" error: the torrent engine tried to save its peer-discovery table to a location the app isn't allowed to write to on phones and TVs, and gave up entirely. Peer discovery now runs without saving that table (it rebuilds itself in seconds on every launch anyway) — torrents play on Android again.

  • "Finding peers…" could hang for 45 seconds on well-seeded torrents (0.6.49 regression): the weekly-refreshed public tracker list turned out to make some swarms *worse* — measured on the same 352-seeder torrent, the pinned list found metadata in 10 s while the refreshed one never did. The refresh is gone; the engine uses the pinned, measured list only.

0.6.49

Thay đổi

  • Torrent swarms connect like a real client now (the "Stremio's torrents are way faster" gap, part 1): Strello was running its torrent engine outbound-only — no listening socket, so no peer could ever connect *to* you, no port forwarding, and no trackers beyond whatever the addon happened to embed (often none, which is why some streams sat at "no peers" for minutes). It now accepts inbound peers with UPnP port-forwarding, announces to a curated public tracker list (refreshed weekly) on top of the addon's, and allows more peers per torrent. Part 2 — a streaming-aware download scheduler — is next.

Đã sửa

  • A torrent whose metadata could not be found (no reachable peers) could leave the "resolving torrent" dialog spinning forever; the whole metadata step is now under one 45-second budget and fails cleanly.

  • Episode previews for bare episode lists (needs a TMDB key in Settings): episodes missing a thumbnail — including the anime episodes Strello fills in beyond IMDb's list, and shows whose IMDb data simply has none — now get their still, air date, and synopsis from TMDB. Applied carefully: TMDB's season layout can disagree with IMDb's, so its data is only used for a season once the air dates line up with episodes we already know; nothing existing is ever overwritten.

Đã sửa

  • Filled-in anime episodes briefly showed a bogus date (every episode stamped with the franchise part's premiere day). Dates now come from TMDB's real per-episode air dates, or stay blank.

0.6.47

Mới

  • Anime episode lists no longer stop where IMDb stopped (the "Tales of Herding Gods only shows 90 episodes" report — 98 had aired): IMDb's donghua lists routinely run months behind. For shows the anime bridge has confidently matched, Strello now checks the anime franchise's own aired-episode count (via your installed anime metadata addon) and fills the gap with regular episode entries — visible in details, playable through the bridge (episodes 91–98 verified returning exact sources, 4K included), binge/progress working as usual. Refreshes every few hours, so new weekly episodes appear the day they air instead of whenever IMDb catches up. Never invents episodes the anime side doesn't list.

Đã sửa

  • Franchise-chain walking asked Kitsu without include=destination, so multi-part franchises whose first match wasn't the first part could fail to resolve; every earlier test show happened to be a first part, which hid it.

  • The buffering spinner tells you what the torrent is doing: torrent sources now show live swarm status under the spinner — "Searching the swarm — no peers yet" while connecting, then peer count and download speed. A thin swarm taking its time now looks like progress instead of a hang (the "why is nothing happening" of low-seed releases).

0.6.45

  • Torrent streaming no longer downloads more than you're watching: playing one episode from a season pack used to pull the entire pack — every episode, full speed, for as long as the player was open. The engine now downloads only the file being played.
  • Torrent streaming is now fully ephemeral, like Stremio: closing the player deletes the streamed data (it already stopped the swarm), and leftovers from crashes or older versions are swept at app start — the torrent cache had been growing without bound (9.5 GB observed) with no way to clear it from the app. Re-watching resumes from your saved position and simply fetches again, playhead-first. Anything you want to keep, use the explicit Download button — downloads are untouched.

  • Anime bridge fetched an episode a few numbers off for some shows (caught on A Mortal's Journey Episode 189, which came back with episode 185 sources): IMDb's season lists can be missing episodes — for this show they run four short of the numbering its own episode names carry ("Episode 189" sitting at S8E13). The bridge now takes the absolute number from those episode names when a show uses them, anchored against neighboring episodes so a single mislabeled entry can't mislead it, and only falls back to counting season lists for shows without such names. Episode 189 now returns exact episode-189 sources from both anime addons.

0.6.43

Mới

  • Anime sources actually match now (the "A Mortal's Journey has no sources" complaint): anime and donghua are listed under an IMDb id with seasons, but release groups — and the anime addons that index them — number the same show as one continuous run under an anime-database id. Strello now bridges the two automatically: every source lookup also asks your addons with the matching Kitsu franchise id and absolute episode number (IMDb S5E1 of A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality = episode 69), and items opened from an anime catalog get the reverse treatment so IMDb-only addons and OpenSubtitles work for them too. Bridged results appear as their own labeled group; duplicates of a directly-found torrent are dropped. Only confidently-matched shows bridge — a wrong show would be worse than an empty list. Kill switch in Settings → Playback.
  • The Sources sheet says who wasn't asked: addons that can't serve a video's id namespace used to be skipped in silence, making "no sources" ambiguous. The empty state now lists them with the reason.
  • Strello Web (preview 1): the same Strello interface now builds and runs in a browser — board, shelves, artwork, details and the Sources sheet load live from your addons, and direct streams play through the browser's own video engine (MP4/WebM; HLS on Safari). Static files in dist/strello-web-preview1.zip — host on any web server, no install. MKV remuxes, subtitles-on-web and the LG TV app arrive in the next milestones.

  • Idle CPU burn and log flooding with "Allow remote control" on: the discovery machinery was waking hundreds of times per second and writing ~130 diagnostic lines a second to the system log — starving the log so real evidence of other problems got dropped. The component was upgraded past that behavior and Strello's native logging now has a warnings-only ceiling. Verified: with remote hosting active, the system log stays silent.

  • Episode sources no longer come up empty on slow addons (round 6.5: "didn't find episodes for E2 of Lanterns — Stremio works fine"). Debrid-backed addons can take 15–40 seconds to resolve an episode nobody has cached yet; Strello was cutting them off at 12 and reporting nothing. It now waits up to 45 seconds — the Sources sheet already fills in addon-by-addon, so fast addons feel exactly the same and slow ones simply arrive when ready. (Verified against the real Cinemeta data that the episode list itself and the per-episode request format were already correct.)

0.6.40

Fixed (TV, round 6)

  • Keyboard rows navigate: DOWN moves through the key rows normally; only from the bottom row does it close the keyboard and continue into the page.
  • No more invisible navigation on details pages: focus could land on a hidden element of the page BEHIND (that's how OK opened "some other movie") — moves can no longer leave the page you're on, and the redundant back-arrow is out of the remote's path (remote BACK covers it).
  • HDR output keeps the right shape: native video mode scales to the surface, so the surface now carries the film's own aspect ratio — no more stretching to full screen; letterboxing is back where it belongs.

0.6.39

Fixed (TV, round 5 — from the SHIELD logcat + emulator verification)

  • The crash when playing with "Native video output (HDR)" on is fixed (a property write raced the player's startup and hit a dead pointer — your log showed the exact spot). The toggle also grew a safety fuse: if a native-mode attempt ever dies mid-start, it switches itself off and the next play uses the normal path — a bad experiment can never brick playback again.
  • TrueHD (and every other codec) now decodes: the bundled player library was the "default" build whose decoder allowlist simply omits TrueHD — Strello now ships the FULL build (all ffmpeg decoders, same license). Atmos remuxes play.
  • "Left always goes back to the bar" is dead at the root: the focus engine was mis-reading where a move had landed (the framework updates focus a beat later than it reports) and treated every ordinary LEFT as an edge — teleporting to the rail. It now tracks the true landing spot; additionally, LEFT from anywhere that isn't the first column can never hand off to the rail, and the on-screen keyboard contains its own arrows (LEFT at the grid edge stays put).
  • Search filters are all reachable: leaving the keyboard downward no longer skips to whatever chip sat under the ✓ key, sideways moves can't diagonal-jump into the search field anymore, and the boot-time focus grab no longer steals the remote mid-navigation on slow starts.
  • The playback-failed screen is operable: Retry is focused the moment the error appears, and the remote stays on the banner's buttons.
  • The tuning panel is readable and visible: solid dark surface instead of translucent glass over the video, every toggle is a big focus-ringed row (OK flips it), and the close X no longer steals focus.

0.6.38

Fixed (TV, round 4 — every navigable fix re-verified on the TV emulator)

  • Strello types for itself: search and every URL/key field now open Strello's own on-screen key grid (letters, digits, URL symbols) instead of trusting the TV's keyboard — no more "use your mobile device" prompts. OK on a field opens it, keys type live, ✓ submits, BACK closes it.
  • LEFT stays in the row: moving left mid-shelf goes to the previous poster (scrolling the row back as needed); only from the first poster does LEFT reach the side rail. Same fix un-sticks tall pages — the settings page now walks past "Sync across devices" all the way down.
  • Rating filter obeys the remote: OK starts adjusting (the control lights up), LEFT/RIGHT change the value, OK/BACK/UP/DOWN finish and apply — focus can always leave.
  • Addon list works by remote: rows show a clear focus ring, OK enters move mode ("press OK to reorder"), UP/DOWN change priority, OK/BACK confirm — no more drag-only reordering.
  • Pop-ups keep the remote: the Sources sheet can no longer lose focus to the rail behind it, and the subtitle/audio pickers in the player are proper TV panels now — big rows, visible selection, first row pre-focused, BACK closes. The playback tuning panel fits the TV screen (it scrolls), its sliders use the same OK-to-adjust pattern, and its toggles are reachable — including "Native video output (HDR)".
  • See all is a card: each shelf ends with a "See all" card right where RIGHT naturally lands, instead of a header button the remote could barely reach.
  • Everything focusable reacts: focused rows and toggles get a visible gold treatment app-wide, and inert controls no longer take focus.

0.6.37

Fixed (TV, round 3 — every fix verified frame-by-frame on a local TV emulator)

  • Typing works: the on-screen keyboard now opens when a search or addon-URL field gains focus (and on OK). While it's open the arrows drive the keyboard; BACK closes it, then the arrows drive the app.
  • No more traps: BACK now follows the TV convention everywhere — close the keyboard, then leave the field, then go Home, and only from Home does it exit the app (before, BACK from any section quit the whole app, and text fields could never be left). Sliders and fields release UP/DOWN so focus can move on.
  • True TV density: posters are ~25% smaller on TV, so two full shelves fit on screen with titles — no more "one and a half rows".
  • The featured title always fits: its name, description and buttons are budgeted to the banner, so the title no longer sticks out past the top of the screen, and reaching it always scrolls fully home. It also stops rotating while you have it selected, so OK plays what you see.
  • The left rail is reachable from anywhere: LEFT from the first column lands on the current page's rail icon; RIGHT from the rail lands on the page's main control (the URL field on Addons, the featured title on Home) — on every page, and reliably right after switching sections.
  • Sources open ready to play: the first stream is pre-selected with the gold highlight when the sheet opens.
  • Details fixes: episode rows highlight as one tile (the tiny "mark watched" toggle no longer grabs the remote — it stays for mouse and touch), genre links show a proper focus ring, and the gold Play/Watch buttons get a white ring so their focus is unmistakable.
  • Desktop too: typing / inside any text field no longer jumps to search and eats the character (it made addon URLs impossible to type).

0.6.35

Đã sửa

  • The new HDR output mode now truly bypasses UI compositing (0.6.34's toggle could silently fall back to the composited path, which would have defeated HDR). Use this build for HDR testing, not 0.6.34.

0.6.34

Mới

  • HDR on TV (player tuning panel → "Native video output (HDR)", experimental, off by default): sends the decoder's frames straight to the screen, so HDR10 films switch your TV into HDR mode — with lower power draw as a bonus. Subtitles and controls stay exactly as they are.

0.6.33

Fixed (TV, from on-device testing — round 2)

  • Home fits the screen: the featured banner now takes about half the TV screen instead of nearly all of it, so shelves are visible immediately — the real reason everything felt oversized.
  • The remote can go everywhere: UP from the shelves returns to the featured title (even after scrolling), LEFT reliably enters the left rail on every page (landing on the current page's icon), and RIGHT returns to content.
  • Focus is always obvious: every button, chip, and source row now shows the same bold gold ring when focused — no more "highlight got less visible" on details pages or invisible selection in the source list.
  • Back always works during playback: first press closes the controls, second press leaves the player.
  • The player's volume slider no longer traps the remote (volume belongs to the TV itself and is hidden there), and mouse-only shelf arrows no longer appear on TV.

0.6.32

Đã sửa

  • TV playback shows video again (audio-over-black-screen on Shield and TV boxes): the graphics backend on TV devices silently failed to display the video surface while everything else worked. TVs now use the long-proven rendering path; phones and tablets are untouched.
  • TV interface is no longer oversized: Android TV already sizes its screen for couch distance — Strello was enlarging text and posters on top of that. TV now lays out like every major TV app (~5 posters per row), and TV detection uses the platform's own answer instead of a screen-width guess (so landscape tablets stop getting TV treatment too).
  • You can finally SEE where you are with the remote: focus was invisible on TV (it worked — you just couldn't see it) because the system treated the remote like a touchscreen. Focus highlights now always render on TV, the remote lands on the hero's Watch button on Home and Play on Details, and the left navigation rail is reachable with LEFT (and back out with RIGHT).

0.6.31

Đã sửa

  • Torrent playback survives slow pieces: a rare or slow-arriving piece (few seeders, or right after a seek) no longer aborts playback after a minute — torrent sources now wait for the swarm and show buffering instead. Direct HTTP still fails fast on genuinely dead links.
  • Lower memory when opening a Details page (the artwork-color sampling no longer briefly decodes 4K backdrops at full size).
  • A torrent whose selected file is empty no longer risks a range-handling fault.

  • The visual refresh is now much more noticeable: the frosted glass on the source sheet actually shows through (its backdrop was too dark before), the artwork glow on Details is stronger, home shelves rise further as they cascade in, and hovering a poster gives it a real pop with a brighter sheen.

0.6.28

Thay đổi

  • TV gets a cinematic backdrop (visual refresh, batch 7 — the finale): on TV and boxes, the featured title's artwork now glows softly across the whole screen behind the shelves, so the 10-foot view feels like it lives inside the show. This completes the visual refresh.

0.6.27

Thay đổi

  • Cinematic hero titles (visual refresh, batch 6): featured titles on Home and Details now carry a heavier, poster-like masthead with a soft shadow, and hero artwork gets a gentle vignette that frames the image and makes titles easier to read.

0.6.26

Thay đổi

0.6.25

Thay đổi

  • Posters feel alive (visual refresh, batch 4): a focused or hovered card now catches a soft sheen of light on top of its lift-and-glow, and every loading placeholder across the app shimmers instead of sitting as a flat grey box.

0.6.24

Thay đổi

  • Home shelves glide into place (visual refresh, batch 3): the rows now fade and rise in a gentle cascade on open, instead of snapping in — each plays once, so scrolling never re-triggers it.

0.6.23

  • Frosted-glass surfaces (visual refresh, batch 2): the source list, the player's tuning panel, and the shortcuts card now float as real frosted glass over what's behind them — depth instead of flat boxes.

0.6.22

Thay đổi

  • Details pages now glow with the artwork — the top of each title's page picks up the dominant color of its backdrop and washes it gently into the page, so every film and show feels like its own place. (First step of a broader visual refresh.)

0.6.21

Mới

  • Torrent streams play (the big one): any source your addons return as a torrent (an infoHash) now plays directly — Strello joins the swarm, prioritizes the pieces around your position, and streams it to the player like any other source. Seeking works; watched pieces are cached for instant re-watch until you clear them. Nothing is bundled — Strello still only plays what the addons *you* install hand it.

0.6.20

Thay đổi

  • Match display to video is now ON by default (Windows) — the verdict from real 4K hardware: with the monitor on the film's own frame rate, pacing is simply perfect. Turn it off in the player tuning panel if you prefer your desktop refresh rate untouched.

Đã sửa

  • Drag-scrolling with the mouse works everywhere again — grab any shelf or page and pull, like touch; wheel glide and edge arrows remain.
  • Screen transitions could briefly show ghosts of the previous screen around display-mode switches (the test-channel engine trusted stale compositor timing for a moment; it now falls back gracefully).

0.6.19

Đã sửa

  • The Windows video pipeline was rebuilt for honest frame delivery: the bridge between the player engine and the UI no longer stalls the compositor on every video frame (a chronic source of dropped frames and that "watching over remote desktop" feel), no longer lets a frame be read while it is still being drawn (black flashes), and now reports real presentation times to the player engine so Smooth motion can lock to your display instead of guessing.
  • Smooth motion now genuinely works on Windows. It silently never engaged before — the player engine's display-sync mode needs to be told the monitor's true refresh rate and driven once per screen refresh, which the rebuilt pipeline now does. Measured on a 59.94 Hz display playing 23.976 film: a perfect 2.5 vsync-per-frame lock with zero mistimed frames. Turn it on in the player's tuning panel for the smoothest pans.

Mới

  • Match display to video (player tuning panel, Windows): switches the monitor to the film's frame rate (e.g. 24 Hz) during playback and restores it after — removes the cadence judder 24p inherently has on a 60 Hz desktop. Off by default; try it if pans still stutter with Smooth motion.

0.6.18

Đã sửa

  • The player now works with a TV remote: OK toggles pause and brings up the controls with focus on play/pause, the D-pad moves between buttons and menus, left/right seek while the controls are hidden, and Back closes the controls before it exits playback. (Arrows previously fought the remote — seeking and jumping volume instead of navigating.)

Mới

  • Discover searches all your sources at once: filters now fan out across every catalog of every enabled addon in parallel — merged, deduplicated, each source keeping its own ordering. Picking a single catalog is now the optional narrowing, not a requirement.
  • Video safe mode (player tuning panel, Android): for TVs and boxes that play sound over a black screen — switches that device to the software video pipeline. Strello also detects the black-screen case itself and flips this on automatically, resuming where you were.

0.6.12

Đã sửa

  • Subtitle size/position/background now work on Android — subtitles render in the player engine everywhere (they silently ignored those settings on Android before).
  • Download and play-on buttons show on tablets and phones — they were hover-only on wide screens, unreachable by touch.
  • Your languages first in the subtitle menu: device language and English sort to the top instead of hiding below a wall of others.

0.6.11

  • Native-window player (Settings → Playback → "Native window", Windows): the player presents frames on its own clock, bypassing the UI toolkit's compositor — for video motion that finally respects timing. Experimental; track menus are limited in this mode for now.

Thay đổi

  • Scrolling glides: mouse-wheel scrolling on desktop now animates smoothly (browser-style) instead of stepping per tick — Home, Search, Settings, Library, Details, and catalogs.
  • Screen changes feel instant: desktop page transitions switched to a fast fade, eliminating the strained-transition feel.

0.6.9

Đã sửa

  • Scrolling down Home with the mouse wheel now scrolls the page — shelves no longer capture vertical wheel motion into sideways jumps (the main "home feels laggy" culprit). Shelves still scroll with drag, arrows, trackpad horizontal, and the edge buttons.

Mới

  • Hardware decoding selector in the player's tuning panel — Direct (fast) / Copy (safe) / Off, switchable live mid-playback. Direct removes the frame-copy tax that made high-bitrate 4K feel heavy; press D to see the decoder state change.
  • Smooth motion (experimental, tuning panel): aligns video frames to your display's refresh — try it if panning shots judder. The D overlay now shows mistimed frames, vsync ratio, and display FPS to prove it.
  • Import from Stremio: one click brings over your whole addon collection — configurations included. Paste your auth key (the dialog shows where to find it); it's used once and never stored.
  • Paste any Stremio link to install an addon: share links from the Stremio apps, configure pages, and stremio:// URLs all now resolve to the right addon automatically — configurations included.

Thay đổi

  • Posters decode at their true on-screen size: sharper artwork on high-density phone screens, less decode work and memory on desktops.

  • Failed addon installs show a clear, translated message (for a pasted web page: exactly that) instead of a raw technical error.

0.6.8

  • Better subtitle matches: the release filename now travels with subtitle requests, so the right subs are found even when hash lookup comes up empty (common for web streams).
  • The portable zip's README now documents where the sync relay stores its data (and the --db flag).

0.6.7

Mới

  • Playback errors now offer Retry — same stream, same spot — so a network blip no longer costs the whole pick-a-source round trip.
  • Sound presets in the player's tuning panel: Dialog boost, Bass, Treble — made for laptop and TV-stick speakers; your choice sticks.
  • Poster menus (save, dismiss, details) open from the keyboard too: press M or the menu key on any focused card.

Thay đổi

  • Binge transitions are near-instant: the next episode's sources are found while the up-next countdown runs, instead of after it.

Đã sửa

  • In-app restore (Settings → Storage): pick any backup from Downloads and Strello swaps it in on restart — your current data is kept alongside as a pre-restore copy. Backup + restore is now a complete round trip.

  • Open-source licenses screen (Settings → About) and third-party notices in the download package.

Mới

  • / jumps to search from anywhere (desktop keyboards) — combined with instant Enter, search is now a full keyboard-only flow.
  • Playback speed persists across sessions (delays stay per-title by design — they correct a file's sync, not a preference).
  • Enter fires search instantly (no debounce wait); phone keyboards show a Search action.

Đã sửa

  • Settings → Performance now always shows numbers from real (release) runs — test/debug runs on the same machine no longer overwrite them.

0.6.3

Mới

  • One-click data backup (Settings → Storage): the whole database — library, progress, addons, settings — hot-copied to Downloads, with restore instructions right there and a Show-in-folder shortcut to the data dir.
  • Copy diagnostics (Settings → About): version, OS, self-measured performance, addon health — clipboard-ready for bug reports, nothing personal included.
  • Player frame tools: frame stepping (, / .), A-B loop (B), frame screenshots to Downloads (S).

Đã sửa

  • Failed downloads now show a short localized reason instead of a technical error string.
  • Home refreshes on a slow clock too, so TV boxes parked for days stop showing stale shelves.

0.6.2

Mới

  • Search filters: All / Movies / Series chips on results.
  • Details: director chips, tappable IMDb rating, and genre links that jump straight into that genre's catalog.
  • Continue Watching cards show "N min left".
  • Completed downloads: Show in folder (Windows).
  • Directory browser: filter field for long addon lists.
  • Calendar cards open details with the right season preselected.
  • Recent searches are removable.
  • Sideload APKs are packaged into dist/ next to the Windows zip.

Đã sửa

  • Addon URLs ending in /manifest.json no longer break catalog browsing.
  • One malformed entry from an addon can no longer hide the rest of its streams, episodes, or catalog (tolerant parsing everywhere).
  • The hero banner stops rotating while your cursor is over it.

0.6.1

Mới

  • Streams with externalUrl / YouTube ids get an Open in browser action.
  • Desktop streaming buffer headroom raised for high-bitrate 4K remuxes.

Đã gỡ bỏ

  • Windows media-flyout integration (SMTC) — reverted after it proved incompatible with our test harness; focused-window media keys still work.

0.6.0

Mới

  • Structured, localized errors everywhere ("You appear to be offline." instead of raw network debug), including an offline notice on the home board.
  • Dismiss from Continue Watching (synced across devices; playback restores it).
  • Phone player gestures: double-tap sides to skip, tap for controls.
  • Playback stats overlay (D): bitrate, fps, dropped frames, hardware decode, cache.
  • Aspect toggle (fit / crop / stretch), volume persistence, subtitle sync keys (Z/X), shortcuts cheat-sheet (?), hardware media keys.
  • Trailer buttons, expandable overviews, tappable cast on details.
  • Mark whole seasons watched/unwatched.
  • Download disk-space preflight (fails fast, clearly, before wasting gigabytes).
  • Performance self-reporting (Settings → Performance) — every device shows its own cold start, board paint, and time-to-first-frame.

0.5.0

Mới

  • Complete English + Nederlands UI with locale-aware dates.
  • Optional TMDB enrichment (your own free key): localized descriptions, richer artwork, synced to your devices.
  • Screen-reader fixes (single announcement per card) and OSD tooltips.
